Frequently Asked Questions

Before travelling

The Brazilian territory, due to its location and great extension, presents different types of climate. The variation of temperature and climate varies both according to the region and the time of year. Count on our team to suggest the best itinerary within the dates your client needs.
This varies according to the destinations you will visit. The vast majority of destinations and establishments accept payment by card, but in some places or even for smaller purchases from street vendors, you can only pay in cash. Our currency is the Brazilian Real (R$ / BRL) and your local guide will be able to indicate a place to exchange money.
In addition to comfortable clothes, sneakers, swimsuits, sandals, sunglasses and a hat, we recommend bringing at least 1 pair of pants and 1 jacket, in case the weather changes and it gets chilly. We strongly recommend bringing a small backpack for everyday use during the tours (to carry your water bottle, sunscreen, snacks, etc.).
Our country is huge and has large and small cities, which will demand different levels of attention. The recommendations are the same as for other tourist destinations: take care of your personal belongings, especially electronics. Be careful when handling your valuables in public. Check out our the Official Brazilian Tourism Website for more here.
If your trip includes the Amazon as a destination, yellow fever vaccine is recommended (not mandatory). During your stay, drink plenty of water and always wear sunscreen and a hat. It might be good to apply insect repellent in some destinations.

During your travel

In Brazil we speak Portuguese, but in most tourist destinations it is possible to communicate in English. People are quite warm and love to welcome foreign visitors.
For gastronomic services (hotels’ room service, restaurants, bars, etc.), usually a 10% service fee will be included. Although not mandatory, everyone is expected to pay. If you choose not to, feel free to ask it to be excluded from the bill. That should not be a problem. There is no need to tip cab drivers. It is customary for each guest to give about 5 dollars a day to the travel guide, and 3 to the driver.
Yes! We strongly advise you to check-in online for your domestic flights, a few days before each departure date. You just have to access the airline company’s website
We recommend Uber for local transportation. It’s cheaper than a cab and more comfortable than public buses. Google maps can also be very helpful to touring around by yourself. For communication, Whatsapp is currently the most used app in Brazil. To compare some cultural differences: CultureMee.
